Year 2 help Florence Nightingale!

On Wednesday 18th March Year 2 had a performing arts workshop all about Florence Nightingale.
The fantastic session taught the children about what the conditions were like for the army at the time, why Florence wanted to be a nurse, what she saw when she went to Scutari and how she helped there.
Through actions, role play and even a rap the children consolidated their historical understanding and really felt like they were there helping Florence. It also taught them why we consider her a significant individual and how she helped modern hospitals and nursing.
What a fantastic experience!
