I am pleased to announce that we have already held three school parliament meetings and the pupils have been very proactive in communicating as a group about important issues and ways of  improving the learning experience here at Guru Nanak Sikh Academy. The whole group displayed real leadership skills and were very professional in their approach when sharing ideas and listening to feedback. So far we have discussed the ways that we can use the limited space in the playground more effectively to ensure that all our pupils are happy. Some of the recommendations made by the pupils were-
-To include more exciting playground equipment in class boxes
-To have playground markings
-To have playgrounds behaviour ambassadors
You will be pleased to know that I have discussed all of these points with the staff and all the playground boxes have now been replenished and year 5 and 6 have the opportunity to have a daily coach! We have also put in place Playground Ambassadors. You will get a chance to meet them in the next assembly. After the Easter break, our next school parliament meeting will focus on creative ways in which we can decorate the wall in the playground to represent the whole school community. I look forward to hearing about your wonderful ideas. I have reminded the team- don't just come with problems but also solutions! I look forward to our next meeting after the holidays!
