E-safety is an integral part of education in today’s digital world and is embedded throughout the curriculum across all phases of the school. Online safety is embedded within the curriculum but particularly addressed within PSHE, Computing lessons as well as in assemblies delivered internally or by external providers. Some of the areas covered are as follows:
How do we communicate online? - Responsible use of social media and the potential risks. Use of chat rooms, IM, social networks, virtual learning and email
What are some of the risks associated with being online? - Correct actions to take if you feel your safety is at risk.
What steps can be taken to protect oneself online? - Anti virus software, Firewalls, Importance of passwords and use of password managers.
